That's quite a pairing of music and personalities, Alan!

An odd couple, for sure. The question for the poem is whether the pairing is greater than the sum of one plus one.

Loved them both!

I couldn't listen to Perry Como when I was young, but somehow he's grown on me. I appreciate the crooners now more than I did then.

Ah, the Queen E.

Ah, Vancouver in those days...

The Queen E's still there, but downtown is not the same. Well, I'm not a suburban adolescent anymore, either, so there's that!

I was there in the mid 80s. Was never scared, even down on Granville at night. It has changed a lot.

Mom had Perry Como records playing, we had Frank Zappa singing. Como was probably far from the genius Zappa was - but then Zappa didn’t sing “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie.. It’s Amore!”

Yes, genius and appeal don't always coincide. Today, I'd far rather listen to Perry than Frank. I guess that means I'm old.

Well I’m definitely old so right now - Perry, (though I recently sent some Frank Zappa in an ongoing ‘listen to this’ exchange with my granddaughter.)
