'Birdsong fading from Canadian prairies' (newspaper headline) The song ebbs at dusk at dawn flows the inhering clockwork of spheres diminishment as yet imperceptible yet unruffled unhaggard but for the long view: decades of living before-you-know-it . . . oh chestnut-collared longspur full-throated in grass sky voice crystalline unmuffled by steel-lined winds staggering westward . . . such a sound rose teemed—sweet sparrow enduring warbler your hale heart thunder in harmony nowhere near threatened altogether unsnuffed out— all together unbuffeted weathering all with celestial gusto
More birdsong from last May (it must be Spring, eh!):
wonderful tribute to that glorious little bird
What a beautiful bird poem! Pictures to match as well!
