zone of proximal development ‘It is through others that we become ourselves.’ –Lev Vygotsky, Russian psychologist (1896 - 1934) in the space between can and can’t we need a little help in that place between able and impossible we need someone to be to be where we teeter drop to the ground to be a hand leading with and to the edge of the stream we’ve chosen to drink from that proximal nudge push shove that lets us climb up and towards the draw the pull the tug that rises from tomorrow from the sky and from somewhere in your permanent distal heart— how unexplored and uncomforted it remains beating inside and alone
