it is spring
with art by Paul Cezanne, lines by Rainer Maria Rilke & photography by man of aran
spring in fall at your return though leaves (apples too) fall in flame fall again and are gathered it is spring though clocks fall back and dark sleeps late it is spring though quicksilver suspended falls slow from day to icy day it is spring though (with Rilke) the Earth falls from out the stars into the Solitude* it is spring and though dew from under the moon falls as frost at dawn here above our fireplace tulips in a vase bloom
*line from Autumn, by Rainer Maria Rilke (trans. Jessie Lamont)
