Thank you for sharing this! What a wonderful poem! It made me sigh, it made me smile, it made me cry. What a tree Tanikawa-san will be!

Thanks for high lighting this poet. Great looking tree too. Oh the hours I used to spend in trees...now it's more among them vs. in them. Anyway, shall check out more from this poet...

Every season has an answer put s roots down to hold on for the wind to pass through the limbs and not fall. Thanks for Trees.

Yes, but if the wind is too high, watch out!

Then be the willow, bend with what the wind sends and when you touch the ground reroot and rebound.

I could see myself as a tree as soon as I read, “Pretty soon I’ll be a tree.”

“Until the day I fade I go nowhere.

I keep on rustling, swaying in the wind.” I thought about how resilient we are like a tree, holding thoughts and memories. Like a tree, our roots run deep and unseen. Though we may sway, leaves may fall, we am rooted like a tree. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem and the photo of the tall beautiful tree.

Such a fine poem. I have envisioned myself becoming part of all the growth and life the soil nourished by my spare parts will provide. I love this iconic tree and the notion that it too will begin another bit of the cycle of life.
