Ah to me he was Perry Mason for years before I ever saw Rear Window, so that coloured my perception. Hard to think he’s a villain. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing my post , Patris. I really appreciate it.
On a side note, Patris, Raymond Burr is from New Westminster in British Columbia, part of Greater Vancouver, where I grew up and still live. I remember going to a parade, maybe the Santa Claus parade, and he was there waving from the back of a convertible. He was quite the celebrity locally, one of Canada's great exports, and even had a local theatre named for him, which no longer exists.
I never trusted Raymond Burr again…
That aside, so apt. And more than true now. We think we know what we see.. but we need more evidence ( if we’re cynical - or wise) to believe it..

I get it - I can only blame a 1950s series in NYC called “Million Dollar Movie” great films 2xday. Why I doubted his sincerity on Perry Mason….

That had to be a great moment - just seeing him .. there’s something about seeing a hero (of sorts)!
