Ah, perceptive! You might be on to something because I do see in Xu's horses, a strong sense of feminine energy. There was a moment in the writing when I changed the pronoun from 'it' to 'she'. It felt right.
Thanks, Dian. I was looking at Susan Rothenberg horse paintings, too, whom I believe you wrote about not long ago. They are also fascinating and even more murky and dreamlike, I thought. I liked the exuberance of Xu’s for this one. Apparently you too!
Wonderful writing and cryptic. I wonder if this horse with all its might and intelligence reflects a woman in this poem?

It makes it stand out! She and horse! Thank you!
Galloping over nothing, and even less than that
Makes me want to get on my stallion and ride like the wind
So evocative and horselike. You’re so good.
Love the art too!

Yes!
Horses and humans are connected by the heart.
Strange how that appears to be the case. I have little real life experience with horses, mostly in dreams.
I used to have riding lessons and help take care of horses. When you wanted to communicate with them you had to feel it.
Fascinating--prelude, painting and poem. We see for what we look. Full-body laughter in brownish maroon.
So glad you thought so, KR. True, too, your insight.
I really enjoyed this one!
Wonderful to hear that, David!
I read this two weeks ago, screenshot the tan horse and sent it to a friend.
Accidently serendipity.
Found you and this again.
Screenshot the black horse.
You certainly capture the dance of the four hooves, lyrically, pictorialy.
Thank you, Malcolm! Always love the serendipitous!
You are most welcome.
